How do you like me now?

Posted in Dining Room, What do YOU think? at 10:46 pm by Andrea

Ok we’ve added a little somethin somethin to the sideboard.  I’ve got the height I want in the center now with the two cake stands and pitcher.  Now some say I need a punch of color, others like it the way it is.

I’m thinking I could add some cute lil faux artichokes around the base of the smaller cake plate.

Here’s another view of the room…

opinions are greatly appreciated!!  (don’t mind the folding chair on the wall there… I hosted a lil gathering this weekend…

Dining Room Elements

Posted in Dining Room, Pottery Barn at 8:25 pm by Andrea

My dining room recently underwent some changes.  I thought I’d share:

I got these new drapes and the monogrammed runner from Pottery Barn.

These are the Hollmann Entertaining shelves, also from PB.  They are my favorite.

Some updates on the sideboard – the pineapple tealight holders are from Pier 1.  The cake plate I found at TJ Maxx.

I feel like something else needs to go there.  Any suggestions?

Updates in the Living Room

Posted in Living Room, Wall Art at 11:32 am by Andrea

This weekend I went a little crazy with shopping.  I’m having a BBQ this weekend and just needed my shelves to look a little more full.  So I went to Pier 1, Target and TJ Maxx to search for some new frames and knick knacks to fill them with.

I found that adorable little bird and mirror on the bottom shelf at TJ Maxx. I know one frame is upside down, I was just getting a feel for what would look good.  On the middle shelf is a vase from Pier 1, and a frame and the framed sand dollar from Target (on clearance – woo hoo).  On the top is an apothecary jar from my dining room sideboard (because I bought more stuff for that…stay tuned).

While at Pier 1, I saw this vase and these pussy willows that I thought would look great next to the loveseat.

And there you have it…

My living room is so close to done.  I just want to switch out the lampshades to cream, get the area rug below for under the coffee table, and some stuff for the side tables and I’m DONE!!

Vinyl Letters

I am obsessed with all things monogram.  My wedding was a festival of monograms, I have a monogram table runner in my dining room, among other things.  I love them.  That’s why as soon as I saw Elphannie’s Etsy shop, I had to order one for my living room.  It came out perfect.  I placed it on the wall where my staircase is, right next to the entryway.

How cute is our stained glass window?

The long awaited…

Posted in Living Room, Pottery Barn at 3:54 pm by Andrea

…”floor to ceiling gallery.”  I first saw this idea on G&D’s nestie bio and then read more about it in her blog.

I loved the idea and really wanted to do it in my living room on a blank wall.  I’ve started collecting some frames and accessories for the shelves, but have some more to get.  I hung the shelves on this long holiday weekend and put what I’ve got up for display.  I’ll be collecting more in the next few weeks.

Here are my shelves with the first of the frames I’ve gotten.  The baby picture of me in the silver frame will not be staying…I just wanted to see if my husband noticed it.

An update in the entryway

Posted in Entryway, Pottery Barn tagged , at 2:35 pm by Andrea

We have an itty bitty entryway.  I like that we have it and wanted it to have some nice decor.  I had this console table and mirror in the living room as a temporary fix.  I wanted to find a larger console and a better mirror for above.  You’ll see what I wound up choosing for that space later.  But this console and mirror works perfectly in my entryway.  I picked up these glass containers and shells at Pottery Barn for a little seasonal touch and the plate is a plastic salad plate from Target ($2.99) for keys.  I hate the pic that’s there, my aunt took it of me and DH at my mom’s 60th b-day dinner when I had a terrible stomach flu, but it’ll do for now.
